FULL LENGTH PLAYS: Her Vincent Sky A full length drama for three women based on the last two years of Vincent Van Gogh's life. Set in France, between the days at the famous Yellow House with Paul Gauguin and the mysterious death by gunshot while in the company of Dr Gachet, this story challenges the idea that artists are bound by reality. A scheduled reading in 2020 TBA Darling, Genius (or How To Write A Novel In Thirty Days) A mumblecore inspired love story that follows Simone and JP through their thirties and forties as they figure out how to live with each other while living apart. A staged reading presented by Rachel Burttram Powers + Brendan Powers, Tiny Theatre, Florida, 2020 In The Room A full length comedy-drama about a family and their relationship with art. Siblings visit an exhibition and discuss philosophy, tradition, death, their artist father and what it means to be normal. When they're not in the room, the art has something to say about them too. An early draft was presented as a staged reading for a small audience at the Thousand Islands Film & Stage Studio, 2018 ONE ACT PLAYS: Act Surprised Four women conspire in the green room during the last night of the show. A multi generational play for women that asks who's on stage. Presented as a staged reading by Rachel Burttram Powers + Brendan Powers, Tiny Theatre, Florida, 2020 It Happens In Threes An exploration of a number reoccurring in popular culture, with observation that moves backwards and forwards with playful and intentional absurdity. Numbers are meaningless until we ascribe meaning. Here we consider how frequently that repetition appears. Accidental Episode A post-modern one-act that explores consciousness, choice and political engagement in an absurd dystopia. On the surface two actors climb ladders in a bleak landscape of tradition. Under the surface the captain and crew keep watch for threats made by an unknown Enemy. Performed for the public at the Arts & Letters Club of Toronto main stage, 2009 Throw Like a Girl A one woman show exploring DADA, memory and psyche from a feminist perspective. Performed at the Garage Theatre, Toronto, 2008 Who Killed the Curator In a contemporary art gallery, curators fight for funding, artists bloat for attention and one stray art buyer can't take home a photograph in a space where nothing is for sale. Winner of the 2008 Evan Hughes Award One Act contest Performed at the Firehall Theatre, Niagara Falls, Canada, 2008 Scheduled to be performed at Iowa State University's Theatre Festival in May 2020 the argument An absurd dialogue of four voices in a brain. Written in 2002 and later recorded as six minute audio play for a performance installation during Doors Open, Toronto.
